Baby Shower for Pippa

Saturday afternoon the girls from work threw a babyshower for me. We had such a great time. It was a tea party!

Thank you so much Majda and Tallie!!!
And of course, all the ladies that came.
It was a special day.

Melissa made the diaper cake. Too cute!

Angela made this beautiful blanket for the baby. Love it!

Cute outfits...I love baby clothes...it has been so hard not to buy any new ones since we kept all of Paisley's.

I have to brag on behalf of Tallie now...she made these bibs...
the pictures do not do them justice...they are incredible.
Such detail from a very talented person and friend.

She made these too.

Now, for the amazing part of the shower.

The best part of the shower was that most of the gifts were given to the Pregnancy Care Clinic.
We are so very blessed, so we were able to donate most everything to the clinic.
The ladies brought tons of diaper, formula and warm clothing.
These are some of the items donated.

What a great gift to give service to someone in need!
Another fabulous idea!

I had so much fun opening all the gifts that were donated on behalf of Pippa and myself.
Such a great feeling to give!

Thanks again Majda and Tallie for throwing the shower and your wonderful idea to donate.
I am glad I did not miss this one!

First Baby Gift

She gave us some bibs, a hat and an outfit for our new little girl.

In addition, she was too sweet and thought about Paisley too.

Paisley's First Hair Appointment

Saturday Paisley and I went to get our hair trimmed.

It was a fun girls day out.

She loved having her hair washed.

The little Diva had to sit under the blow dryer.

Snow Days

Paisley bundled herself up with a little help from mom. She was out in the snow before breakfast and before 8am. She loved it.

We were lucky enough to get snow.

After this she was too sick to go outside, but she did get some fun in.

I want to give a big thanks to Kyanne and Jeneva.
They stayed with me most of the week and ended up taking care of Paisley during their snow days.
It is so nice to have a 10 year old and almost 16 years old niece.

Great Support

Just wanted to thank everyone for such great support while George is in Hawaii.

We are doing great, but it is nice to know that so many people have asked if we needed anything and volunteered to help out while he is away.

It is a great peace to my mind and we are most definitely loved.

3D Ultrasound-Pippa Place

We had our 32 week appointment and it was the 3D ultrasound.
Pippa is doing great.
She is weighing in at 5lbs and if we go full term she will be about 8lbs.
She is breech right now, but Dr. Garde is not worried because she still has time to turn.
No signs of going early yet, but then again we didn't have any signs for Paisley either.
The baby is sucking her thumb in the ultrasound pictures.

I can't wait to see what she is going to look like!!!

We have not been up to a lot lately...here are the girls lounging around.

My new iPad cover came in...love the red leather.

Paisley enjoying playing Angry Birds on my iPad. She can't get enough of it and she is pretty good.

Like I said, laying around...here is Abbey.

Paisley has had an upset tummy, but nothing major.

I love my mom...she gave me a bag full of these babies for Christmas...nothing better than chocolate and peanut butter and a diet pepsi too!

We have made a few trips to the donut house this last couple of weeks...not good...I know.

Paisley started swim lessons again...new teacher, new bathing suit and a new bathing cap. She looks so cute.

I know...I have a problem...PediPed had a sale...so I picked these up for our new princess!
They are so cute..especially the blue ones.

Life is good!

Christmas 2011

We had a fabulous Christmas Holiday. It began Saturday night when we went to my moms for Christmas Eve festivities. I love this picture of my brother Michael, Paisley and Jeneva.

Paisley was spoiled as usual.
Many thanks to those that sent gifts for Paisley to open as well.
She loved them all!

Stocking stuffers...all that a girl needs! Nail polish, lip gloss, Minnie t-shirt, chocolate, etc.

Christmas morning we gave Paisley her new kitchen complete with food, cookware and of course a chef apron and hat.
She loved it!
George also picked her up a LeapFrog game thing.

Here she is playing away before we needed to catch the ferry to Grandma and Papa Nicks house.

I had 3 favorite gifts this year. A digital picture frame for my office. I do not have one and always wanted one.
My mom must have known.

For Jeneva's birthday we gave her a crochet kit and she made the new baby a hat.
I absolutely love it!

I didn't know what to ask Santa for this year because I am so blessed, but I did mention an iPad 2 to George...so he gave me an iPad2. I have played with it now for a day or so and I do like it. Nice and portable.

Christmas day we headed to grandma and Papa's house to spend a couple of days with them.
Here we are opening more presents.

Paisley was our little helper. Here she is picking on Uncle Koni.

She loves her dress, slippers and accessories so much.
She is still wearing them all daily.

I have had a long month and we did not have a chance to call up Sarah for our annual Christmas pictures.
So, we did them ourselves. Not great, but they will work.
Here is our little lady waiting patiently for daddy to shave and do his hair.

She is so done!

Jeneva was our photographer. She did a great job.

Paisley has a new best friend at school. Her name is June.
June wears headbands...so Paisley now wears headbands.
June also wears skirts with leggings...so we have our new skirts on order.
I was so proud of her...she used her $5.00 birthday gift to buy her own headbands.
She is growing up!

This is not the picture we used, but it is one of my favorites. I love this girl. Poor George looks so left out.

Jeneva Musical and Santa Pictures

We had the opportunity to go to Jeneva's concert and we loved it.

Afterwards, we took Paisley to her last swim lesson of the quarter and she passed!!!

She is now a turtle...only took two times this time.

Don't mind the goofy face...she was SO EXCITED to talk to Santa...she was bubbling over with joy.

She asked for a roller coaster. Go figure.

We went to Santa's Village and saw all of the animals.

Christmas Tree Drama

So, we waited too long to get our fresh cut tree and they were all out by the time we were ready to get ours.
We called up Tallie and she saved our bacon.
Tallie has multiple trees and she loaned us this one.

Here we are putting it together.

Notice we put a layer on the wrong level, but before we noticed it was decorated...oh well...such is life.

I can't tell you how much I love the Montessori School.

Paisley is doing so well and she is thriving!

She came home with a couple of gifts for mommy.

She made this candle for me at school.

I know many of you have multiple children and have received many a hand made gift,
but this is my first and I love them so much!

She also made me a stocking with her name on it.

Paisley and I made sugar cookies with my new roller-it worked perfectly!
We also have two extra large cookie cutter and we made jumbo sugar cookies for friends.

Paisley's 4th Birthday

The day began with cousin Lynnsey coming over to play.

Paisley was given the choice of her cake and that set our Priness theme in motion.

She loved it!

We had the entire family over for dinner, cake & ice cream and presents.
She loved it!

Grandma gave her a wand and beautiful wings.
She went around the following day turning mom and dad into various things.

Uncle Koni and Melissa gave her an art easel. Great idea!

Paisley had two big gifts, so we had her turn around as we wheeled them in.

The first from mom and dad...a 3 story doll house. She loved it!
It took George a few days to put it together.

Grandma Ewing bought her this princess car. She loved it too!

My mini me. She found a pair of my glasses and tried them on.

Her Aunt Christine gave her some fun toys to play with.
The cow poops out candy...go figure.

She was given a pirate toy and took off the eye patch and decided to wear it herself.
She went around the house talking like a pirate.

All ready for school today...she turned the big 4!!!
We were going to take her out today and do something fun, but she did not want too.
She wanted to go to school.
They are doing a celebration for her today and she was able to bring in a special snack.
After work she gets to pick out her birthday dinner...she chose McDonalds...what can I say...easy to please.

Last Weekend...

This is how Paisley came home day 2 of Montessori School. She loves it so much!
We are so happy and she is so happy.
The teacher says she has a fabulous vocabulary and she count really well for her age.

Later that day we went out to moms for a GIRLS NIGHT!

Saturday began with Paisley and me going shopping in Burlington. We picked up a few goodies.
We came home and later Saturday day night George and I went out with 3 other couples to Anthony's for our annual Christmas Dinner. It was really nice and good food.

This is really dark...I apologize.
Paisley's nightly job is to turn on the Christmas lights.

Next weekend, we will put up our tree.

I ordered personalized pacifiers again and they came in...Pippa is the name we have picked for our new princess.

Our new favorite muffins from Costco are the pumpkin ones.

Another new favorite is Glade candles-holiday baking scent.

Our Christmas shower curtain came in complete with matching hooks.

Yes, I have not made any progress on my Christmas cards and newsletter. Maybe this weekend.

George and I participate in the Tree of Hope program each year. We had 17 year old twins to buy for so we went down to Safeway and picked up a few Old Navy and Best Buy gift cards so they can choose what they want. In addition, we get the fuel points and the $10 coupon x 2. Works for us.

I have been a studying maniac.
I have two more weeks and then I am done with this class.
It has been interesting, but hard.
Senior level is not a great thing when you are pregnant and busy.

Yesterday was my 26 1/2 week appointment and everything is great!
Baby is kicking tons!
Another food group is off the list-no red sauces, chocolate (I know-very sad) and now citrus!
Next appointment in 4 weeks and that is the 3D ultrasound.
3rd tri-mester here we come.

First Day of Montessori School

It has taken us 6 months to feel comfortable with Paisley going back to a school after the whole episode with the preschool that we won't name.

It was a horrible experience for us and really left me fearful of other schools.

After a great deal of research and talking to others and due to a change in the family,

we have enrolled Paisley in the Montessori School.

Day 1 was yesterday, so I don't want to jinx ourselves, but she did great! She loved it!

I have to say this school is very loving and the ladies treat Paisley like family.

She is learning, making new friends and their hours are perfect for our working hours.

She was so pooped out from all of the things she was able to do yesterday,

that she fell asleep on the way home.

She was so excited to go back today and when we dropped her off...the ladies welcomed her with open arms and were so loving. Yeah Montessori!

Hawaiian Nutcracker

Buca di Beppo

We had two great Thanksgiving dinners with my family and then with George's family on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

We all met up Saturday at Buca di Beppo for some Italian dining.
I had never been there...it was really good.
Tons of food, fun and family.

Paisley enjoyed all the cousins to play with.

Notice the stains on her shirt...she enjoyed the food too.

It was so tacky...it had me laughing.

On our way home we did shome shopping.
George spoiled me with this new hot chocolate pot from William and Sonoma.
Love it!!!

My main goal was to buy these stamps for my holiday baking.
Can't wait!

Our oven pooped out Sunday.
George impressed me again with his handyman skills and fixed it last night.
A gal really needs her oven. Even though we were only down for 24 hours, it was not fun.
He picked up the part we needed from Broadview Appliance and installed it in a matter of minutes.
Love this man!

Fat Lip

Paisley and I love to watch Dancing with the Stars.
She loves to show me how she can do the dances too.
After she watched the Cha Cha...she decided to do her own Cha Cha.
She was doing really good until her face hit the couch and her tooth pierced her lip.
The result-a fat lip.

She was not a happy camper,
but was more upset that she could not finish her Cha Cha then her lip being puffy and bloody.
Needless to say, we did not get our Christmas card pictures done this weekend.

Last Two Weeks

I did happen to take a few pictures these last two weeks.
Paisley was sick and she soaks it up just like her daddy.

We painted toenails.

We baked cookies.

George had the opportunity to go with Jeneva to her Daddy/Grandpa/Uncle dinner.
They made "MANLOAF". It was the hit of the party.
It is a stuffed meatloaf with braided bacon on top.

My house has remained uncleaned...I just can't keep up with it these days.

Had a great time going with 8 other gals to the Breaking Dawn Part 1 movie.
So much fun. We had dinner, talked, laughed and I really enjoyed the movie.
Thanks Linda, Sarah, Amanda, Nerell, Holly, Tammy and Ciera!

For YW's we had a few girls honored for achieving their YW Medallion.
We were asked to wear ours.
I have never taken them out of the box, so this was a first.
I explained to Paisley what they were..she loved them.

They only do one medallion these days, but in my days they gave a neclace for each level and then one at the very end.

We have definitely been up to more lately, but these are all the pictures that I have.

Christmas Card Stress

So, I have to vent this out to make me feel better.

I usually have my Christmas cards in the mail by December 1st, but it does not look like that is going to happen.

We have not even done our picture yet!!!

I have the stamps ordered, paper bought (as of today), newsletter half way done, Paisley's new dress is here, but wrinkled badly...I have to say...it is just not coming together easily this year.

To top it off...I have a cold sore now!

I toyed with not doing them this year, but I am going to persevere!!!

They may not be out by December 1st, but they will go out.

Ok, I feel better now. Not really, but this helped.

November came quick...

We have been busy in the Place household.

I have been extremely busy with church and my college class.

I really enjoy this class, but it is tough.

Paisley is doing great in swimming, she has advanced to seahorse level now.

She had a tough teacher last session, we loved her! She made Paisley do the things we know she could do.

Tough love works!

This session she has Holly again-we love Holly and she is also tough on Paisley.

We purchased this swim hat when her rubberband broke. She loves it.

She is doing so well.

We can't get the Cinderella dress off of her. Here she is on top of the baby clothes tubs that she was helping me go through for our new addition.

This is how I found her one morning, reading on the toilet like daddy does. Too funny!

We took our yearly pilgrimage to Everett to watch Disney on Ice.
15 of us in all went and we had a great family fun.
This year was Toy Story 3.

All she wanted was cotton candy and it came with this hat.

Here is the Barbie dance and it was the best really.

Well, November is not over...wish us luck!

Dr. Appointment

Went for my 22 week check up and was told by Dr. Garde that I am 24 weeks along...so we may be having a February baby afterall.

As usual measuring ahead of schedule...I am actually measuring in at 29 weeks due to some fibroids, but all in all everything is great. We are narrowing down the first name to Pippa or Penelope, however I am starting to like Poppy too...still working on the Hawaiian middle name.

We'll keep you posted. I promise it won't be a big secret!

Cinderella Cinderella

We had a fabulous Halloween!

And we hope you all did too.

She had a crown, earrings, rings, etc. Definitely blinged out.

Pumpkin Patch

For Family Home Evening last night we went to the pumpkin patch.

We had a blast!

She found this huge pumpkin and wanted it, but we convinced here to go smaller.

She even tried to pick it up. So determined.

Instead, she found this little beauty. It is her pride and joy.

We even picked some up for Wednesday night. We are carving pumpkins for our activity.
Paisley helped me pick out a few in case the girls don't follow through.

Saturday Night Fun

Saturday night we had 12 girls going to the Stake Dance in Ferndale.

They were so excited and their costumes were really fun.

The Daniels took 6 and we took 6.

The Tahoe smelled liked a fruit salad with girls putting on makeup, perfume, fake eyelashes, wigs, etc.

George was too funny and a good sport being the only guy in the car with 7 ladies.

The girls had a blast and we enjoyed a nice date night out while they danced the night away.

Since we did not have to chaperone, just transport we headed to a new restaurant George found in the Fairhaven district of Bellingham. All I have to say is YUM! I had filet minon and George had a prime rib.

I just have to say that I am totally blessed with the people that surround me.

I truly have the best husband that supports me and takes care of me.

I had a long day yesterday. Went to work 7-3:30, met with a new Beehive at 4:00, went visiting teaching from 4:30-7:15 and then to swim lessons 7:15-8:00. Needless to say I crashed when I got home.

I also have a fabulous visiting teaching partner. She made me dinner and brought it with us because she knew that it was going to be a long day and that I would not be home. I am so blessed! Thank you Jennifer Daniels! You are awesome.

Even though it was a long day I had a great day. I love visiting with these ladies and hearing the good and the bad. Charity never faileth!

Boy or Girl

For those that wanted to know...

We went to our appointment yesterday, but they could not do the ultrasound to determine the gender.

We are scheduled for Monday, October 24th at 10 a.m.

All is going great.

Heartbeat great. Measuring a month ahead which is normal per the last pregnancy.

I don't want to jinx myself, but no morning sickness for the last two days.

Ok, so I don't have a lot of pictures, but here are some.

As I said before, George took me to Seattle to a wonderful hotel and out to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants-Cheescake Factory. They had this new cheescake-Red Velvet-it was good. We actually ended up taking 3 pieces of different cheesecake back to our hotel to nibble on for later that night.
We went shopping and attempted to go to a movie, but there was just nothing interesting.

While in Seattle, we took a little detour to Renton to IKEA. We needed two things to prep for the arrival of the new baby. One was another dresser and the other another crib mattress.
So, we had a blast at IKEA and spent way too much.
We ended up picking up two dressers-one for Paisley and one for the new baby. We were replacing that aging white one you can see in the background. Here is George and Paisley putting them together.

And the final product!!!! They are great. 6 drawers each and we are all set now.
Unless it is a boy of course...then we will need a few more things.

We picked up these cute coat hangers. They are puppy tails. Paisley loved them.

George spoiled me by buying me these things and more from William and Sonoma.
I have been wanting this roller because the ends give you the perfect thickness for what you need to roll out. 3 different thicknesses just by changing out the end circles. I also wanted this cupcake corer so I can make filled cupcakes.

We decorated for Halloween.

Paisley is such a great helper.

I ordered her Cinderella costume complete with glass slippers that light up.

We are all ready to go now.

In addition, to this I finished two more classes for school and have a 2 week break until the next one starts.

This weekend George went to the cabin with Paisley and met up with his mom and brother. I had some Young Women obligations, so I stayed behind. They went to the Octoberfest Celebration where Paisley had a ball. Kona has a chicken dance video that I will post of Paisley when he sends it to me. Standy by for that one.

35th Birthday Wishes

George swept me away to Seattle for a get-a-way weekend and he spoiled me as usual.

Yesterday I took my actual birthday off to spend with my favorite girl Paisley!!!

She sang to me all day and was a complete angel. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday.

George and I laugh that we are now both in the next category when they ask for your age on things.

FHE Bowling

This weekend was jammed packed full of things to do.

First, Friday I went to the movies with 3 friends on base.

I have not been back there since I quit 5 years ago now.

Saturday we had the opportunity to spend the day with my mom and family. It was my mom's birthday last week and with everyone's schedules we could only get together that day.

We picked her blackberries and made cobbler, we had lunch and enjoyed family time.

Saturday night I had the opportunity to go to a women's broadcast and then out to dinner with a dear friend. We talked the night away. Thanks Linda!!! You are fabulous.

Sunday was a church meeting, church and then another Fireside.

You don't want me to even tell you how October is looking for church events-it is not going to be pretty.

For Family Home Evening last night we went bowling. We had a great time together.

Well, since I have been really sick and not wanting to go anywhere...we have done a whole lot of nothing since we came back from the cabin. So, here are some random pictures of what Paisley has been up too.

George asked her if she wanted tools or a doll...she choose tools. George found these cool play tools and she has been busy ever since.

A dear old friend sent us these two books in the mail when she found out I was expecting. She wanted Paisley to be ready and she wanted me to have words of inspiration. We love the books! Thanks Janet!

Paisley spent at least a half an hour going through this Halloween costume catalog picking out what she wanted to be. She ultimately choose to be Cinderella. I wanted her to be the gothic rag doll, but she isn't budging.

After church Sunday, I asked her to put on some comfy clothes. This is the first outfit she goes for everytime. It is green, her favorite color.

Poor Paisley doesn't realize she is getting bigger. Her costumes don't fit, but she put them on anyways. Our little Tinker Bell.

Don't let this one fool you...she is a terror...but we love her so much!

Things have been rough lately due to my pregnancy. I am having massive morning sickness all day long, got the flu over the weekend, classes are on the 5th week of 8 and I am having to work really hard to keep my A's. Add this to work and church and I am struggling to keep it together. There are definitely days that I want to go home and nap,but alas...that is not what professionals do! We stick it out and we press on.

Labor Day Weekend

We went to the cabin this Labor Day weekend for some fun and R&R. The boats were out in full force.

This is where I like to be...on the dock, book in hand and soaking in the sun.

My mini me sat along side and ate all my white cheddar popcorn.

This girls came too. They all went fishing and crabbing.

Farmer's Market was fabulous as usual.

The weather could not be beat. Sun all weekend long.

Paisley loves to go boating now. The sun was in her face in this one.

George's mom had the cabin painted this year. It look fabulous!
Great color scheme and all.

Some pooped out girls. We went Thursday after work and came back Monday aftenoon.
I am glad to be home. I had a hard weekend actually...morning sickness getting the better of me.

Place Baby #2 On The Way...

Paisley is so excited to be a big sister.
She said she would even give the baby her favorite blanket.
Now that is saying something because she freaks out when it gets washed!

We are very excited for our new and final addition. My theory is to not let them out number you.

We wanted to wait until we were in the 2nd trimester to make our announcement to the world...
of course, family and close friends knew, but now that I can't button most of my pants it is time.

This one has been really difficult so far.

With Paisley I had no symptoms at all, this little angel is kicking my butt.

I am not on my A game and I really dislike that.

Having said that...the last week has been better.

I will be working up to the point my water breaks and doing my college classes as well.

Wish me luck...I may need it.

Family Home Evening

Last night for Family Home Evening we went to Rocky Point for some beach fun.

We played in the sand.

We skipped rocks on the water.

We took pictures.

George went fishing for salmon.

We rolled around so that we could bring home tons of sand to mess up the floor.

George caught a salmon...he was so happy!

We buried ourselves in the sand.

More fishing with Paisley supervising.

Finally, she decided she was going swimming in the ocean and then had second thoughts when we felt the cold cold water....so she played in the sand some more.

Family Disneyland Adventure

Some of my family went to Disneyland last week.

Mom wanted us to go, but we just had our trip to Spain and really wanted to take Paisley for her 5th birthday for the first time...so we opted out.

They had a blast and even stayed at the Paradis Pier Disneyland Hotel!!!

How fun is that.

My mom, brother, his girlfriend and two nieces ended up going.

This time I have a really good excuse why I don't have pictures. My mom and nieces went to Disneyland without us...I know...feel sorry for us...and I let mom borrow our camera.

First of all I have to give a shout out to Kona-he watched Paisley Tues-Thurs for us last week.

Paisley loved hanging out with her Uncle Koni.

Friday, I took the day off to spend with Paisley. We were going to head to Burlington to see a movie, but there was nothing of interest for her so instead we went to Paint Your World and did a little damage there.
We had a ton of fun spending the day together.

Saturday began with cleaning and grocery shopping, but after that...fun fun fun.
We went to the Coupeville Arts and Crafts Festival.

Then I took 3 girls to Anacortes for a Stake sports day/BBQ/dance.

Luckily another mother picked up the girls at 10pm so that I could go to the best part of the weekend.

BBQ and Movie Night at the Bebee's!!!!

Saturday night we had a BBQ and movie night with 3 other couples.
We BBQ'd steak and had a delicous meal.
Afterwards we set up an outdoor movie theatre with projector and screen.
We had a blast. The Bebee's have an outdoor fire pit and we sat around that while we watched the movie.
We had popcorn, hot tamales, whoppers, etc.
Loved it!!!

That was our weekend in a nutshell.

Today begins my next two classes towards completing my degree. Wish me luck!
These ones are going to be tough.

I have to share this one.

Tuesday night George, Kona and Mike (George's good friend) went salmon fishing by the ferry in Coupeville.
Mike snagged himself this 40lb King Salmon, plus two other smaller ones.

The funny part to me is that it took 30 minutes to bring it in and when he got close his pole snapped...
so what does my husband do...
he jumped in the water and wrestled it to the shore so his good friend did not lose the catch of his life.
That's my man!

Man's Weekend

George and Kona went to the cabin this weekend.

They had a great time fishing and crabbing.

George was lucky enough to catch himself a salmon.

I am glad he could get away, but even more glad to have him home.

We bought her this very cool doll house complete with all the furniture from Costco.

In addition, she loves to cook...so we purchased this kitchen for her too.
She is going to be in heaven!!!

Splash Park 2011

Last year we were introduced to the splash park in Mt. Vernon.
We went again Saturday and had so much fun!
The weather was hot and the company was great!

We took Jeneva with us and she was such a big help watching out for Paisley.

We went with Tallie and her grandchildren. Here is Cadence.

Next to the splash park is a regular park. The kids just go back and forth all day long.

Dragon Boat

This week the City gave the employees and spouses an opportunity to ride and row with the Dragon Boat Team.
It was a blast. We had great weather, saw 3 bald eagles, a seal and many boats out for Race Week.

Fun Fun Fun Week!

I had such a fun week. It was really crazy and I still need more sleep, but fun none the less.
For Kyanne's birthday I bought her concert tickets to New Kids on the Block/Backstreet Boys.
Friday was the concert in Tacoma. So I took off early and we headed down.
We had a blast!!!
They really did an amazing concerty. Non stop through the entire night.

The four of us had a great dinner in Lynnwood and a great concert.
We didn't get home until about 2 a.m.

This is out of order, but Wednesday we were able as the YW group to go to Ala Spit and make forts and have a BBQ.
I really love my calling!
It was a great night and I work with amazing ladies.

Saturday we were invited over to Tallie's for a playdate.
Tallie also invited Linda and Elizabeth to play too.
They loved her bouncy house.

First Day of Preschool

We had a great week. We began the next round of swimming lessons.
We went to the farmer's market and picked up a bunch of yummy things to eat.

We had dinner outside most days.

We went to the Dugualla Flats and enjoyed some ice cream.
And then we went for a family drive around the island.

Friday I went to Trader Joe's for goodies and Target for a toddler bed.
We took down the crib and put up the toddler bed.

Saturday I had the opportunity to go to the temple with Alexis and Todd Strong.
We went to the bookstore after and I picked up this picture that I have wanted for over a year.

We made new recipes.
This is an apple, bacon and havarti cheese panini.

We had cousins over to play.

We played with 3D chalk.

We went to the drive-in for a triple feature.
Paisley was so excited she carried her own gear.

Melissa and Kona came too.

Paisley had the back seats all to herself.

Paisley and I had girl time Monday morning since George worked the holiday for OT.
So we sat in the sun and enjoyed M&M's and milk.

We played on the slip and slide.

We were invited over to the Johnston's house for a 4th of July BBQ.

Paisley was in heaven with all of the older girls attention.
We met new friends and enjoyed the old ones too.

Busy Busy Week

My new favorite place is the Berry Barn on the way to Burlington. There are so many neat things in there. I picked up this sign for my office. I also bought another for a friends birthday.

As you can see we picked up popcorn too. Paisley and Jeneva loved it.

George and Paisley have been bike riding every day while I am at the gym.

George's composter came in and it is ready to go.

Friday we had a Beehive going away/pity party at Jennifer's because the older girls were at Youth Conference.
They made pizza, watched a movie and enjoyed lots of giggles. I enjoyed talking with the other leaders, but stayed up way too late. I had site security at 4 a.m. to do the next day.

I had two 5 hours OT shifts at the bone site on Pioneer Way.
It was great. I just watched movies and enjoyed some alone time.

We had cousins over...here is David in the sand box.

Paisley also did her first talk in Primary and George came to watch her. She did really well, but is definitely going to be the class clown. She fed off of all the giggles when she spoke too loud in the microphone.

She was so happy and so excited all week to give her talk and she did it!

This is one of my favorite things. I take Paisley to my sister's in the morning and George picks her up while I go to the gym. Some mornings we head out a little early and pick up Starbucks hot chocolates. She loves it and I love spending girl time with her. She is growing up so fast!

No Pictures

I did not take one picture this week. I know shameful.

We are back in our daily groove since being away for 2 weeks. George no longer has jet-lag and Paisley is back on schedule. Work has been crazy with catching up, but I am almost caught up.

Last week I had lunch with Tallie, Amy and Melissa from work and we tried out the new Italian restaurant in the Old Town Mall. It was really good and priced really well.

I also had an opportunity to go hiking-not my idea- for YW. I have not been to Ft. Ebey since I went on a date with a guy in high school. I don't plan on going back anytime soon either. All I can say is I am done hiking for the year at least.

Friday, George, Paisley and I went to down to walk the waterfront trail. Paisley was on her bike and she is super fast. She can use her brakes and all. Thanks Grandma and Papa Nick for showing her how and thanks for warning us that she was so fast. We had to run a couple times to catch her. It was a great walk and great weather.

All I did Saturday was get 4 inches cut off my hair and sleep. Paisley and I took a four hour nap! It was great and then we went to bed early too.

Sunday we had a great Father's Day. Paisley sang in sacrament at church for the first time. We practiced and she was great! We made George baked french toast for breakfast and for his gift we ordered him a compost bin that rotates and that should be in Tuesday.

In addition, he wanted brisket for dinner so he threw one on the grill and ended the day full. Melissa and Kona came over for dinner and brought us Tillamook cheese from their weekend camping adventure. Yummy!

This week was going to be quiet, but now I have something to do every night of the week. Wish me luck!

Spain 2011 Trip

Here is a taste of our trip to Spain. Way too many pictures to post.

We began our trip in Madrid for 3 days.

This is where George ate many interesting items. We found Madrid to be very diverse, but fustrating. You really need to know Spanish to make it easy...however, we made it by pointing a lot.

The royal palace was very interesting to me. I was truly amazed.

They give you these white hearing aids in your language to use while you are there. We also went to the museums and saw works of art by Da Vinci, Monet, Van Gogh and more that I can't remember right now

After our days in Madrid we took the AVE to Barcelona. The AVE is their high speed train system. It was fabulous to use and only took less than 3 hours to get there.

In Barcelona we saw tons of Gaudi work. We took the City tour bus that let you get on and off at whatever sites you wanted all day long for as long as you wanted. We were able to see so much this way.

This is the La Sagrada Familia.
It's a basilica that was started in 1882 and won't be finished for another 30 years or so. Just amazing.

One of my favorite things was the hammon and melon. Great taste of salty with sweet. I have to tell you that I did not do so great with the food. Lots of bread, cheese and meat. Not a lot of fruits and veggies.

I literally lost 10 lbs with lack of food and all the walking we did.

I did however have some fabulous chocolate.

Barcelona was our favorite place and we really needed more than 3 days there.

After Barcelona we took the train down to the bottom of Spain. Here we stayed with my sister in Rota and she took us to Gibraltar which is still under British rule.

In Gibraltar we explored caves and took a tour which was bascially a crash course in history. At the top we were able to see Africa which is only 13 miles away and also many monkeys.

Here is my brother in law Josh's retirement ceremony. It was really nice.

Leather is very big in Spain. I bought these leather flowers for my nieces. Big flowers seem to be a trend at church these days...so I got them for them to wear. I myself have not embraced the fad.

All in all we had a fabulous trip for 14 days and now I am glad to be home.

George and I went to Spain for two weeks without our little angel. She would have never made the plane ride, train rides and metro running.

We are so blessed to have Claudette and Nick in our lives...not just because they watched Paisley for us, but because they are the best!

I can't tell you how thankful I am to have such a great mother in law and father in law.

While we were gone, Paisley had the best time in the whole world. She rode her bike daily, she made pancakes for lunch, she went to the zoo, she went to festivals, parades, she swam in the lake and in the pool and on and on and on.

I didn't have to worry at all.

Hawaiian Style Weekend

WOW! What a weekend. I need a nap to recover.

It began Friday with a nice and relaxing pedicure and then it got crazy from there.

Friday night we celebrated George's birthday with my family. We went out to dinner and had a great time.

Then Saturday morning bright and early I hit the gym for a good work out and then had the desire to clean out the fridge. That took about 2 hour worth of scrubbing and cleaning every inch, but it does look great.

Saturday afternoon we went to Tallie's house for a BBQ and I have to say that was too much fun. We didn't want to leave....we did however leave because we went to a showing of Pirates of the Carribean #4 with my brother and his girlfriend. Their present to George was taking us to the movies. Fun night and great show.

Sunday was calm, but also busy getting ready for church.

George's dad sent him a birthday package and inside were these dresses for Paisley.
They are really cute...much better than the picture.

Here she is all dresses up for church. Her face is still beat up from falling this week.

This Wednesday the Beehives are learning how to hula so I made up some reminders and stapled them to lei's.

Paisley decided to help.

She decided to wear all 36 lei's.

This is the result. Funny girl.

I have to say May is birthday month. I have now celebrated 8 family and friends birthdays and I have 2 more to go.

I am definitley in need of a vacation.

Only 8 more days now and Spain here we come.

George's 35th Birthday Weekend

Fabulous Mother's Day!

Our weekend began with a trip to a Mariners game. We had a blast.

We had garlic fries, popcorn, cotton candy, ice cream dots, foot long dogs, mariner dogs, taters, chicken and more.
We ate our way through the game basically.

We took the girls with us.

My Mother's Day began with flowers and kisses and hugs from my baby girl.

This is Paisley zoning out. She did not have a nap on Sunday.

George bought me a seatbelt wallet to go with my seatbelt purses and an Itune gift card tucked in it.

In addtion, he made me dinner and bought a chocolate cake from Costco. He knows me well.

I am so blessed to a be mom!

TOFW & Opening Day Fishing

This weekend flew by, but it was fun!

It began Friday when Linda and I headed down to Seattle for Time Out For Women.

We shopped and shopped and shopped.

One thing I picked up were these cute crocs for Paisley.
She absolutely loves Dora right now.

We went to a great women's conference called Time Out For Women. It was fabulous!
Great speakers and great musical performances.
The venue was Benaroyal Hall-which I have to say it great!
My cup is full and I am ready to go...

While I went to Seattle...George and Paisley headed to
grandma and papa Nick's home for opening day weekend of fishing.

They fished and fished and fished.

I joined them Saturday after the conference.

We had a wonderful Easter Holiday.

Paisley's favorite color is green right now, so I found her this cute green dress!

We had a nice week last week.

Quiet and we were able to get a lot done.

A friend from work gave Paisley this blue horse. It is a bouncy horse. It goes everywhere with her. George even buckled it in the car on the way to Aunt Christine's house. Unfortunately, we can not bring horsey over to Aunt Christine's house anymore because Daisy (their dog) thinks it is competition and barks at it all day.

Swimming is going well.

I believe Paisley might just pass Tadpoles this time around.

She loves picking on her teachers Holly and Brett.

I took my midterm Friday afternoon and did fabulous!

Went to the temple Saturday and had a great day.

I have the best husband!

He encouraged me to take as long as I needed.

There was just two of us that ended up going.

It was nice talking with the mom of my best friend from grade school.

Sister Lantz is the best and always has been.

Last, but not least we bought our plane tickets to Spain!!!!!

Only 6 more weeks.

Kona is the Best

I forgot to mention that Kona is a genius. If you remember a couple posts ago our big 50" t.v. in the living room that was only about 5 years old died. I was not a happy camper.
Kona in all his brilliance fixed it for us.

All we had to do was get one part and he did it! Amazing!

Thank you brother-in-law. We love you!

Now, what are we going to do with an extra t.v.?????

I ran out of room in the picture storage and did not have time to figure it out. I wasn't slacking....I had a valid excuse.
Anyways, this is what we have been up too. Yes, reading massive amounts of history books for class. Midterm this Friday!!!!

We purchases a new dryer and washer. Love them!

I told Paisley it was cold outside and this is her solution.

Green Hat

George went to a class last Monday night through Tuesday night. On Monday night, Paisley and I had some girl time. We were in our pj's by 5:30 and we snuggled the rest of the night. However, not before we took these fun pictures of Paisley in her new hat. She is a kick in the pants when she wants to be.

Fabulous Weekend!

Our weekend was fabulous, but it didn't start out that way.
Here is our new t.v.
You ask why do you have a new t.v.....well the old one died. The repair man came and told us it would be a $600 repair.
So, George decided that a new t.v. was only $1200 and had a lot more features like running the internet through the t.v., netflix, etc. He made a quick trip up to Bellingham to pick it up and there you go.

Kona and George decided to fix the old 50" t.v. by themselves. Here they are taking out the bad board.

Later this day we took Tallie and Tony out to dinner for fixing Kyanne's laptop for FREE. Thank you Tony!
We had a great dinner in Anacortes at the Rock Fish Grill.

Sunday rolled around and this was the best day ever!
When I was 21 I went to South Africa for a month to visit some friends that I had met 6 months before.
They were in the States on a intern program with a company called Logos.

Anyways, I found them on facebook not too long ago.

Jannie was living in Bellingham with his family and Derrick was still in South Africa.

Derrick had some work to do in the States and decided to visit Jannie and ME!!!!

Jannie came over with his lovely wife and two kids. Derrick is single ladies and he would love to live in the states!

Anyways, we did a BBQ and had tons of laughs and stories.

Well, I have been slacking on my blogging lately. Time has been flying by. Let's recap.

At work I won a wellness prize. It is a girls fishing pole. Paisley will be set for fishing on Opening Day and at the cabin now. It is pink and all.

Back in February Eric asked George to cook all the chili for the Hot Dogs and Rods. He made a fabulous chili and also entered this car into the derby. He had a great time.

We finally found the t.v. for the game room that is in progress.

I found this gorgeous dress. It is so cute! Can't wait for Paisley to wear it.

I had my final exam and passed the class with a score of 990 out of 1000 points. My next class starts next Monday.

Discovered that we like moon sand better than playdough. George picked up this kit for Paisley.

We played outside in the cold.

Snow and Swimming

We love the snow. Paisley and daddy went outside each night after work and played.

She loves her picture taken.

At swim lessons they did life jacket intro. I am so glad since we are often on a boat with her at the cabin.

They told them to cross their arms, look up and jump in.

They played ring around the rosy in the water. They loved it!

I am so glad she is having this opportunity-swimming is an essensial tool in life.

I took Friday off to have a four day weekend. It was grand. Paisley and I headed to Burlington for a little shopping. The trip was made easier with these new dvd players in the Tahoe. Paisley loved them. We have one on each chair.

I picked up my two new pairs of glasses.

Friday night we went to the Bebee's house for a bon fire, pizza dinner and to play some Farkel. We had a blast.

Saturday I went to the gym, worked long hours on my term paper and then went to dinner at Kindle's house in honor of a dear friends retirement from the County. It was such a great party.

Sunday we went to church and rested.

Monday George worked the holiday shift, so Paisley and I did some early Spring cleaning. We went through tubs of clothing and went to town cleaning.

I did not work on my crochet...go figure.

I bought this headband from Etsy. It is really cute. My goal is to crochet one myself by the end of the year.

George came home and rested.

Then he made a new recipe for dinner. Cashew chicken over rice with veggies. It was really good.

That was our four day weekend.

Valentine's Day

At work our wellness committee handed out dove dark chocolate bars for Valentine's Day.
They were for heart health too.

George sent me flowers at work. They are still fresh and blooming today.

Kyanne watched Paisley and Jeneva for us so we could go to Frasiers for a fabulous dinner.

George gave me more Pride and Prejudice sequels...which I have been wanting.

It was a great Valentine's Day!

We brought home sundae makings for a fun Valentine's Day dessert. Here is Jeneva enjoying her bannana split.

Fun Weekend

Friday I took off at lunch to go to the temple with Linda. I was definitely spiritually uplifted.

Then we decided to go to dinner and some shopping in Bellevue.

Paisley is getting so tall that her shirts are too short. I was able to pick up a bunch of shirts and leggings for her.

This one is my favorite.

Cheesecake Factory for dinner. Yum. We even took cheesecake home for George and Eric.
Thanks again Linda-it was a grand day.

Saturday morning George decided to make waffles. Here they are.

I know...a little intense. Paisley caught me off guard while I was doing my hair. Saturday was another church day. Jennifer picked me up and off we went to Burlington for a leadership meeting. We met up with Sarah and Gena for lunch/dinner right before. Fun times.

This morning we exchanged our Valentine's Day gifts.
Paisley has a nice new doll to play with. She was so excited.

I don't really have any pictures this week. It was a long week and a little stressful. It was full of firsts.

Tuesday-Paisley had her first real dentist appointment. She did so good and even let them polish her teeth. They said they never had a better patient and couldn't believe she was only 3. I wish I could have seen it. I was in the next room getting my teeth cleaned. George was with Paisley and said he had to do a double take...he couldn't believe she was that good either.

After the dentist I went to get my two new pairs of glasses since I was eligible. After a slight complication I was able to pick out my two new pairs.

Then I went to the library for the first time in 15 years. I had to renew my library card and everything. It was a new experience for sure.

Then we went to Paisley's first swimming lesson. As you saw in the last post she had a ball. I was a nervous wreck. I have a little phobia about water and I am not the best of swimmers. My heart raced through the whole 30 minute class.

Wednesday was YW's and they played dodgeball. Pretty fun.

Thursday was swimming again. I was a little more relaxed.

Friday I finished studying for my mid term and the anxiety was high, but I am so glad I have such a great hubby that supports me and helps me out. I think he enjoyed quizzing me.

Saturday was my mid term. The unknown was stressful, but all in all it was fun. I ended up getting a 100% on the exam. Then we went shopping in Burlington and had a gret lunch at a little hole in the wall place. Then we came home and later went to Melissa's for dinner. Kona made lasagna. It was super yummy.

Sunday was Sunday and a struggle with Paisley as usual. I have to say I really love my mom. She is so patient....something I am not.

This week we also went back to planning out our meals. This always works for us for many reasons. We end up shopping only once a week and that saves us money and time and waste. We don't have to worry about what's for breakfast, lunch and dinner and we don't have to fight crowds after work at the grocery store. It just makes life easier.

I look forward to this week being more quiet. I also look forward to learning how to crochet on Wed night at YW's and then going to the temple this Friday followed by shopping and dinner with a dear friend.

Swim Lessons

Paisley had her first swim lesson Tuesday night.

She looks so scared, but really she loves the water. They were practicing being star fish in the water.
