Update on Pippa

We took Pippa to her 7 week check up yesterday and she is growing way too fast!
Literally!
She is almost 12lbs and she is 59.5 cm which is the 94 percentile.
So, she is not chunky, she is tall!!!

We took out Paisley's stats and look how they compared when they were both 7 weeks.

Paisley weight 10# 9oz
Pippa 11# 5oz

Paisley height 22 inches
Pippa 24 inches

Pippa is very demanding, but still a really sweet baby.
Paisley was not very demanding until she turned like 2 and was the sweetest baby in the world.

I can't wait to see how Pippa's personality compares to Paisley's.

Easter 2012

We had a really lovely Easter and we hope you did too.
We dyed our eggs Friday night.  Jeneva and Kyanne came over to help.

Saturday morning we headed over to the Fowler's home for their annual Easter Egg Hunt.
Paisley had a blast. 

Usually I would put her in her Easter dress for a photo op, but we went low key with just a skirt this year.

Here is George reminding her to go easy and let others have eggs too.

Here she is with her good friend Valerie.  They are visiting since the hunt was over.

Later that day Paisley had a birthday party to go too.
She was sooooo excited.

Yes, outfit change number 2 for the day.  She had to wear her green skirt and shiny silver shoes to the party.

Sunday-Easter morning...here she is in her new Easter dress.
She decided to bring her backpack full of quiet things to do in Sacrament.
She is a cutie!

I am a little crazy...I admit it...George will confirm.  I hunted all over town for this cake.

I really wanted to get a bunny cake for Paisley for a surprise.
This was the only one left.  It is kinda scary looking if you ask me, but she loved it.
We had it for Easter dessert with the family, along with Bunny Track ice cream.

I found this totally too cute outfit for Pippa's first Easter.
It was soooo cute...she was not happy because she was a little hungry.
Story of my life these days.
Anyways, it was my favorite color yellow, had polka dots and a easter bunny on the butt and a bunny hat.
Pippa came to the Easter hunt too, but she won't be ready to hunt until next year.

This year I decided to do less candy and more items that she would really use.
So, here are a couple of the things we put in her basket.
The Disney Store was having a sale on their t-shirts and night gowns, so I picked her up 2 of each.
In addition, she needed a new pair of Crocs...so I found these Disney ones and in the basket they went.
We also put in a traditional easter bunny candy and a few other little candies.
She loved her basket!

I am so thankful for my Savior and his sacrifice.  Sacrament meeting at church was really nice and definitley made me think of all my many blessings and for the atonement.  Something to remember daily and not just on Easter.

Water Leak Adventure

This adventure began two months ago...on the day we came home from the hospital.
We had a notice on the door that we had a potential water leak.
Our bill came and sure enough it was about $40 higher than normal.

We did not have a chance to think about it and the notice was put aside. 
Our next bill came and it was $50 higher than normal.

This put us into action.

We traced the water leak under the driveway.  Not what we wanted for sure.

Saturday we were in action.  Keith came over early and George rented a jack hammer and work began.

Yes, that WAS my nice driveway.  We decided to abandon the aging line and run a completely new one.
Kona and my brother Michael came over to help dig.

Work began about 10 am and they were finished by 2ish.  Even Paisley helped out with her mini shovel.

We decided to put the pipe in a sleeve for added protection and because we will be pouring a new driveway over it.  In case this happens again, all we have to do is pull a new line through the sleeve and not have to worry about removing the driveway.

I have to give a huge THANKS out to Rich Tyhuis...all week he helped us trace and fix errors we were having.  We were even on a hose for 2 days because the shut off valve broke off to the house in the off position.  Not fun!  Water tasted nasty.  Needless to say we drank water bottles those two days.

Another THANKS goes out to Keith for all his help and great ideas.

Lastly, a huge THANKS to Kona and Michael...I am sure that is not what they wanted to do on their Saturday.

Now we just wait for the inspection on Monday and we can back fill the ditch.

We won't pour concrete until the weather gets better.

George is now motivated to pour a second driveway for the boat and dune buggy too.

Paisley & Pippa

Paisley is such a good big sister. 

This is Paisley's first time changing Pippa's diaper all by herself.  Mom was supervising of course.

She did a fabulous job.
Don't look at the mess behind them.
My house is not as tidy as it normally is.

We have been busy with baby duty and Paisley duty.

Pippa had her first bath at home.  She doesn't really like it.

We all tried to rest...we are worn out and tired.

I started walking again after George gets off work.
It feels good.  I am working my way back to the gym.

Pippa is growing and she eats all the time. 
I can barely keep up with her. 

Paisley is my big helper.  Here she is practicing her letters in her preschool books.
She is so smart and a quick learner.
Love this girl.

She is pretty mello most of the time, but she is stubborn too.
Wonder where she gets that from.
She is very expresive with her face as well.

George is back to work...Paisley is in school...and I am tired.
I just started my next college class today and I don't know how I will keep up with it all.  Wish me luck!

Pippa Kealalehua Place

Meet Pippa Kealalehua Place
Her middle name is a family name and means the aroma of the lehua flower.
Similar to Paisley's which is Kaulehuapuakela...which means the untouchable flower of the lehua tree.

We have had a fun last 6 days.
It began Sunday morning about 3:15 a.m. when my water broke.  I was sleeping and George had just gone to bed about 12:30 a.m. after staying up all night to play video games.  I on the other hand went to bed about 8pm the night before.  Paisley was already spending the night at my mom's house by chance.  I even joked to George that this would be a perfect night to go into labor.

We drove to the hospital and I began contracting within the hour.  Nothing major at first, but then they began to pick up as they do.  I had my FABULOUS epidural about 9ish and was in heaven from that point forward.
All the family was called and given a heads up and then we relaxed until a complication came up...my blood pressure dropped really low and I had to be put on oxygen...the baby was stressing and needed some air.  Once the oxygen was on and I was placed on my side her stats went back to normal. 

About 3ish I was ready to push.  This one was a little more intense than Paisley.  She was bigger and that alone was a complication for me.  I was not made to birth large babies...lets put it that way.

I pushed about 5 sets of 3 and she was out, but before she could slide out Dr. Garde was put to the test...the cord was wrapped around the babies neck twice and her right shoulder was caught behind my pelvic bone.  This is why you have babies at a hospital...you just don't know what can go wrong.  It took 2 nurses, Dr. Garde and George to help Pippa arrive safe and sound about 3:21 p.m.

She was immediately placed on my belly and George cut the cord.

She was beautiful!!!!
It was nice to remember more this time around and it was truly a peaceful birth despite the drama at the end. 

After I was cleaned up and the baby was cleaned up the family came in to meet our new family member.

George's mom, Kona, Melissa, my sister Christine, Kyanne, my mom, Jeneva and of course Paisley.

Paisley was soooooo excited and wanted to hold her automatically.

She is such a great big sister already!

We were doing so good the next day we went home.  No pain medicines or anything.
It was nice to go home and relax with the family and establish our routine.

We are so thankful for family. 
Especially our mom's.  They took care of Paisley until we came home.

The next day we were back to our routine with the addition of a new baby routine. 
Before George took Paisley to school, she made sure I was ready to go when Pippa needed her diaper changed.
She set out everything.  Love her!

Paisley is a creature of habit and we hope Pippa will develop that as well.
It makes it so much easier when they are on a schedule and stick to it.

I am now on maternity leave up to 12 weeks...not sure I'll be out the entire time, but at least 8 weeks.
The crew from work sent us flowers.  So pretty!

Mom brought this bouquet to us in the hospital.

You are an awesome friend...we loved it and it sure helped out!

We wanted to make sure Paisley adjusted well to Pippa...so we gave her a gift from her little sister.
Paisley is having some attention issues, but we are working on those.
She loves her sister...but her world has totally changed.

She made us all neclaces...including Pippa.

She has dark long hair and blue eyes so far. She was 7lbs 10oz...19.6" long.
She is very mello and nurses really well.
So much easier this time around...we struggled with Paisley.
She has nice tanned Hawaiian skin...much darker than Paisley was.

George is going back to work Monday...it has been nice having him home.

I had to throw this in...this is Paisley day 2.

This is Paisley about 1 week old.

Well, that is about all...we are doing really well and we love all the family and friends that I have come over.
Pippa is doing great...already had a Dr. check up and he says she looks great.  She barely lost any weight and the nurses just love her like they did with Paisley.

We are so blessed and we love her so much! 

Today was our offical due date...I am glad she came early...more opportunities to kiss her sweet cheeks!

Baby Update

So, I went to my weekly check up yesterday and I am still dilated between a 1 and a 2. 

However, I am now 80% effaced...last week I was 40%.

Dr. Garde and I just laugh.  She can't believe I haven't delivered yet.

She said all is great and to come back next Tuesday.

Oh well, a March baby it is!
