Christmas Update

The Place Family had a wonderful Christmas. We were not able to travel to George's moms house, but we will do that in a week or so to get together with them. We did however go to Grandma Ewing's home on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

All the family was there, except for my younger sister Diana and her family, which are in Spain. Don't feel bad for them (just kidding), I wish I were in Spain traveling around seeing such fabulous sites.

Anywho-we enjoyed each others company on Christmas Eve by watching a movie and making cookies and candies. We waited and waited to open presents because Michael had to work until 9pm, which turned out to be alomost 10:30 p.m. Paisley did not make it until then, so we all decided to go home and open presents the following day.

Paisley below loves to sit on the presents....she loves to plant her butt on anything actually.

George and Michael had the honor of handing out presents this year. Paisley is waiting patiently for her next gift.

Uncle Kona gave Paisley this cute Christmas sweater for her birthday a couple of weeks ago. He has great taste and luckily one of his jobs is working at the GAP!!!! Hurray for Kona and his GAP discount!!!!

George and I have a limit on what we spend for each other. However, this year I could not help myself. I knew he really really really, did I say really wanted the Playstation 3. So, he got the Playstation 3. He was so happy!!!!!

Paisley had no problems opening up gifts and she did like the gifts and not just the boxes. In fact, I don't believe she touched the boxes at all. She received a bunch of great gifts from family and friends.

Here is Kyanne and Jeneva baking cookies Christmas Eve. Notice the flour on the cheeks. They planted the flour so it made it look like they were working hard. Ha Ha Ha.

Jeneva loves sparking cider. We brought two bottles just for her. She is also great at chugging it. Yes, we know it is very lady like. Too funny!

The girls decided Paisley needed flour on her cheeks too. She was the keeper of the decoration sprinkles while we were baking away. Check her out. Too cute!!!

These two girls are so beautiful, kind and giving. They are a delite to our family.

That is about all for now. We hope you all had a great Christmas too.

Merry Christmas

I just wanted to take a moment to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. We are so thankful for our family and friends. We are so thankful for our many blessings. We are so thankful for the gospel of Jesus Christ. We hope everyone is safe and warm this holiday season. We have you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Last, but not least we especially want to give a shout out to the Foy Family in Spain....We love you all!!!

Paisley Turns ONE-Hawaiian Style

Paisley had her first 1st birthday party in Hawaii. It is a Hawaiian tradition that you throw a big luau for the 1st birthday. With the help of family and friends we had a fabulous luau for Paisley's 1st birthday. Another tradition is also planting a coconut tree for a birth, so we did that too.

Mahalo for helping us with the party-we love you all and can't wait to come back.

My mom and two nieces came along and they all had a chance to experience Hawaii to the fullest. We went to the volcano, we went to the black sand beaches, we cracked open coconuts, watched George spear fish, ate tons of delicious Hawaiian food and came back with the true Hawaiian spirit.

Paisley enjoyed the pool as you can see below. She is definitely going to be like her dad in the water. Jeneva even got the hang of swimming by the end of the trip. Way to go girls!

All in all, it was a great trip to Hawaii for a very special occasion. We look forward to going back soon.

Paisley Turns ONE

Our beautiful princess Paisley turned ONE on December 12th. We had a family gathering at our house to celebrate the occasion. This happened to be her second first birthday party (her first one was in Hawaii-that is another post to come). We had over 20 family members in attendance. Paisley wore her princess crown and her pretty pink party dress. We even had a princess crown pinata. George made a delicious lasagna and I made her birthday cake (which I plan on doing every year as a tradition). I chose to do a cupcake theme for her cake and all our guests had giant cupcakes with pink frosting for themselves. Everyone had a blast!!!

Holiday Pictures 2008

Ok, so for years we have sent out holiday cards with just Abbey and Angus (our english mastiffs) on them. Our family has given us grief about not including ourselves in them. So we had our good friend and very talented photographer Sarah take some of the family. Here are a few of my favorites.

Family Introduction

To begin our blog, I thought that I would introduce ourselves to those that are new to our family. George and I have been married for almost 3 years now, but we have been together for 11. Wow, that is such a long time. George and I knew each other in high school and even graduated the same year, but we did not start dating until we both began our careers with the City.

We were married January 14, 2006 and had our first and only child thus far, Paisley on December 12, 2007. We live in Oak Harbor in a modest house that is FOR SALE right now. We need to upgrade to a bigger home now that we have all of this baby stuff.

George and I both work for the City of Oak Harbor. George is the Lead Solid Waste Collector and I am the Purchasing & Equipment Coordinator. We have both worked for the City for 11 years now. We enjoy what we do and we love living in Oak Harbor.

Well, that is us in a nut shell. Stay tuned for more.
