Tough Love

I did some research and we are going to try the cry it out method for baby Pippa.
She will not sleep unless you rock her to sleep.  She only sleeps at night for 2-3 hours at a time.
My mom says she is just like me...I was a power napper.

I can't take it anymore, I have 3 bags beneath my eyes.  I need some sleep.  Seriously!

Last night we tried it by putting her in the crib, she does not like to sleep in the crib, and let her cry it out for about 30 minutes before we cracked.  I then picked her up and she fell righ asleep.  I put her back in the crib and sure enough she slept for 5 hours straight.  I then fed her and put her back in the crib and she slept until I had to wake her up to take her to Amanda's.

Tonight we try again, this time you are suppose to increase the amount of time they cry it out.
By day 7 we should be good to go.

Pray for us!

Cabin Weekend

This weekend we took off to the cabin for some R&R.

We were packed into the Tahoe with 6 of us and all of our gear.
Here is Paisley posing for the camera.

She decided she needed to walk around outside the car.

All in all we brought home 22 crabs.

Paisley collects pine cones for her grandma.  It is her favorite thing to do.

All of her outside toys were waiting for her.

Paisley is not allowed to go down to the dock without her life vest.  She is really good about putting it on and walking slowly.  She is such a big girl.

George put Pippa in the baby swing and she loved it.

She is enjoying her R&R too.

We went to Roche for some ice cream.  Yum!
Paisley ended up dropping hers over the side of the railing into the water.
She was not happy.

Pippa enjoyed some of daddy's ice cream too.
She loves it!

This is my favorite thing to do at the cabin.  Sit and read my book, in the sun with a diet pepsi.
The only thing that could make it better would be some chocolate too.

Paisley can't fit into the baby swing any longer.  She has upgraded to the big girl swing.
She did pretty good.
Her cousins were nice enough to push her all weekend.

Now if that face does not tell you how the weekend was...I don't know what will.

It was fun and relaxing.  George ended up catching a couple of fish.  He had Kyanne and Jeneva to keep him company out on the water.  Kyanne pulled in a shark too.

My mom, grandma and uncle came up Saturday for lunch.  It was my grandma's 79th birthday and she had never been to Friday Harbor.  She had a very special day.  As they were pulling out of Anacortes a huge pod of Orca whales stopped the ferry for 20 minutes until they could pass by.  They said it was amazing to see and they were putting on a show.  Everyone on the boat raced to the side they were on...mom was afraid the boat was going to tip.  It was amazing they said.

That is all for now.  Back to the daily grind.

Double Bluff Birthday Party

Saturday we had the opportunity to go to a family birthday party for a friend's kid from high school.
They had the party at the beach.
Double Bluff to be exact.
It is near Freeland on a nice sandy warm beach.
The day was gorgeous and we had a blast.

Paisley is patiently waiting while presents are opened up.
She is so ready to hit the beach.

Finally, the beach!

She played and played.
She wore herself out.
It was gorgeous!
We all have tans and some burns.

Another thumb sucker.

My little sunbather resting in the shade.

Exploring with daddy on the beach.

Tons of kisses.

Such a great party idea.  She gave all the kids buckets with shovels and a pair of sunglasses.
What a great way to celebrate a birthday and the day was perfect.

We are definitely going to Double Bluff again for some more fun in the sun.

Many Things...

Pippa is getting so big that she is in her exersaucer now...here she is playing at the 4th of July BBQ at Linda's house.
Too fun!

George has been going crabbing with two buddies.  He has limited out each day.

Enjoying lunch after church with his little girl outside in the sun!

We went to the Coupeville farmers market for the first time.  Bought this super yummy cupcake...it is called a french toast cupcake.

Finished up our All Star series...it was fun while it lasted.
Coaching again is really not worth it due to the parents these days.
They think their kids are super stars and at age 9-10, that is simply not the case.
The girls did their best and had fun.

Still Swimming...

Summer Lessons began.  Monday-Thursday...as if our life is not busy enough.
Paisley is doing great.
She has a hard core teacher and we can't wait for her to keep progressing.

S'mores by the fire...

Saturday night we decided to roast up some marshmellows and make s'mores.

Honestly, I don't think I combed Paisley's hair at all Saturday.
It was a laid back kinda day.

Kyanne roasting starburst candies.
She says it is what they do at girls camp.
Who would have thunk it?

What is Paisley wearing you ask?  Well, it is a Halloween costume that she wears all the time!
She was showing me her dance moves.

Love these girls.

West Beach

Friday was a nice day, so after dinner we took a walk along west beach.
We skipped stones.

It was kinda windy, but I am glad Pippa lets us put her in the carrier now.

We made sand castles.

Minus the wind and my growing bald spot, this is a good picture of me and the girls.

Too cute.

Nice family outing.

Pippa Rolling Over

Pippa can now roll from her back to her tummy.
Here she is doing it for us.
Paisley there to help as always!
