The weekend is almost over...

This weekend went by too quick!!!!

This is my last post on my old and slow laptop...tomorrow my new one arrives!!!!

On Saturday we went off island to do some shopping...before we left town we went to Starbucks to get some hot chocolate. I have to say...Paisley is definitley my daughter. She wanted her own hot chocolate...so here she is sipping her hot chocolate...I took this with my blackberry...I am finally figuring it out.

We hit the Old Navy sale and picked up a few things...then we went to the outlet mall to go check out Carters and Osh Kosh...while I was in there....Paisley and George took a walk into the Vans outlet. George picked out these for Paisley...they were buy one get one free...they are really cute.

At Old Navy I found this t-shirt for Jeneva....loved it and it was only $1.70 when all was said and done...the two pairs of cords for Jeneva were only $5.00 each...We scored big time. Even George found some pants in his size for like $2.00 each. Can't beat that.
We had a good day shopping...then for dinner we were invited over to the Walton's for dinner and games....thanks Walton's!!! We had a fun time playing a game called Ticket To Ride.
Now it is Sunday and we are at home making homemade salsa and getting ready for the missionaries to come over for dinner at 6. I made chicken and beef enchiladas this morning before church....so all I have to do is pop them in the oven and we will be ready to go.
Hope your weekend was fun too.

Home Improvements 2010

George and I try to do some home improvements each year. This year we decided to get a new dishwasher and to put a new cabinet, counter, sink and faucet in the bathroom. George did a fabulous job. Paisley and I helped by staying out of the way.

Here is our new dishwasher. Love it!!!! It is so quiet and does a really good job. Our old one was...well....OLD!!!

It is much bigger and has the utensil holder on the door which gives it even more room.

I had to throw these in...Paisley worked so hard that she crashed on the bed while I was washing all the sheets and pillow cases. Love her!!!

So, we went to Home Depot many times Saturday to get just the right look. I picked out the cabient and top and faucet. George did the install once again. He did a great job!!!!

Love the black marble counter top.

mini Boden

Ladies....I found a new site for cute adorable childrens clothes. Check them out.

www.bodenusa.com

Like I really needed to find another site for more clothes for Paisley. I just can't help myself...they are too cute!!!

Daddy's Little Helper

This weekend Paisley helped daddy wash the Tahoe. She did a great job!!!

Eric Johnston's Tag

Ok, so today George and I went through a tons of containers in the search of baby clothes to give to Linda for Elizabeth. In the process I found pictures to post!!!

Here is one of my senior year pictures. Yes, my hair is naturally curly. I just straighten it now.

Here is my senior prom picture.

Here is my graduation picture. I cut my hair for the first time a few weeks before this. This is the shortest my hair ever got.

And here is my senior year softball picture. Stripes do wonders to your hips.

Fun pictures to share!!! Thanks Eric for the idea.
Ok, so I just reviewed Eric's post and it said to post from 1990...that was 5 years before these pictures. Not sure that I have any of when I was in middle school, so I guess these will have to do.

The year of the boys...

What did I tell ya....it is the year of the boys. My sister Diana...that is also due in May... just found out today that she is having another boy!!! Congratulations Foy Family!!!

Yele.org

As most of you know there was a 7.0 earthquake that hit Haiti a couple of days ago. They are in desperate need of help. Tons of children, women and men have nothing. Many have died and the death toll is growing.

Today I went on www.yele.org and made a contribution to help out Haiti. It is tax deductible and extremely needed. Check it out if you want to help them out. There are many ways to do so. What a better way to begin 2010.

Remodel At Work

Today at work we began our remodel to make office spaces to accomodate our Engineering Division. In the process we are getting our offices painted and new carpet!!!! Hurray!!!!

So, they are going to rip out the old carpet and I had to move all of my stuff out of my office and I am now working off of a folding white plastic table. I hope it does not fall!!!!

The good news is that when done I will have a freshly painted office, new carpet and a new desk.

Well worth the trouble.

Boys Rule This Year

Congratulations goes out to my cousin Jennifer. They just found out today that they are having a boy in May. It is the year of the boys!!!
The poor thing will have Paisley and Lynnsey picking on him all day now.

Top 10 New Years Resolutions for the Modern Mom

I found this article and loved it-

Top 10 New Years Resolutions for the Modern Mom

1. Indulge yourself-find that little something that you love and do it regularly...get your nails done, read your favorite magazine cover to cover, take yoga or Spanish lessons and so on.

2. Take a vacation without the kids-even if it is just a long weekend, call the parents or in-laws for help and take time away with your husband.

3. Give up on being perfect-the quicker you do this, the better your year will be!

4. Get organized-take the time and get your house, paperwork, calendar and finances in order. This will save you so much time and stress throughout the year that it is well worth the half-day investment.

5. Tell your husband what help look like-they aren't mind readers, just tell them what would help you in the New Year, what a perfect excuse to "re-balance" the load.

6. Create a new tradition with your kids-find a new family tradition and make a big deal out of it, they will remember if forever and you will cherish it for years to come.

7. Say "I love you" to your husband and kids every day, even if it is over the phone while you are away for work.

8. Entertain more-open your home and host your friends. Pick a few "parties" you want to throw and go for it, you'll have a blast and re-connect with your friends.

9. Set clear expectation at work-with your boss and your subordinates. What do you expect, what will you deliver and how you will get your work done...including hours and amount of travel.

10. Set a career goal and life goal for the year-what will you reflect on at the end of the year, what will make you feel fulfilled, right it down and go for it.

I don't know about you all, but I love these ideas. They are perfect for the Modern Mom.

Before I read this my New Years Resolution was to drink more water. I figured I would at least commit to at least one thing. I now have a few more to strive for.

Happy 2010 Everyone

For the last 12 years we have gone out to dinner New Years Eve with our dear friends Mike and Susan...over the last 3 or 4 years we have had a couple additions to our party. This year Barb and Chuck came too. Here is Mike and Barb enjoying their drinks. We had a fun night. We walked on the Mulkiteo Ferry and arrived to our destination within minutes which was the Ivars Restaurant in Mulkiteo. It is fabulous!!!!

George had a seafood dish.

I had filet minon and crab cakes...I hope I spelled that right. Anyways...whatever way you spell it...it was delicious.

Thanks mom for watching Paisley...she loves grandma's house!!!

And to you all we hope you have a great 2010 full of laughter, fun and great memories.
