Paisley's Bite Mark

Paisley was at school yesterday afternoon playing and another little boy her size and age bit her on the shoulder. He bit right through her shirt and broke skin!!!!!

I can not believe that happened. The boy was pulled to the side, but what can you really do to a 14 month baby except seperate them and say no no no.

Poor Paisley was mess. She cried for a half an hour. I am surprised she did not punch the kid. I know that is not right too, but come on.

Anyone had this experience and what did you do or even what can you do?

On top of that, I had a church meeting that I needed to go to last night and all I wanted to do was cuddle her and make sure she was ok, but duty calls. Daddy is a great cuddler too and took great care of our angel.

Thanks Bonnie and Kelly Anne for listening to my dilemma last night. I have been assured by Larry Smith that this is only the beginning.

  1. I used to teach day care, I was Head teacher in the 12-18 months room. I have seen many a bite, trust me that the teacher was just as upset that it happened on her watch, I always used to say for every one bite that happens I stopped 10 before they happen. I know its upsetting to have a child get hurt, but it's just one of those things that can't be avoided every time. I also know its easy to get mad at the other child, but just wait, cause one day it may be paisely doing the biting! at this age teeth are a babies only weapon, they are little and have know idea that thier actions cause others pain. Sorry if i sound kinda preachy but I have delt with this A LOT!! I taught day care for 5+ years. if it helps just remember she won't remember!!

  2. Er...Maira was the one doing the biting that caused blood back in her day. I don't know why she did it, but it was mortifying. I'm not sure who it is worse for, mom of biter, or bitee. What to say...hmmmm SORRY! SHe will prpbebly steer clear of the kiddo who did the deed though.

  3. I am so sorry. Kids are so hard on each other. We have had our share of bite marks and I am sorry to say, we have given out a few. I hope she is better now!
