Another Dinner Recipe

So, George and I are burnt out on eating the same dinners over and over. We do like to try new things so I made a new chicken pot pie recipe last night. Here it is and it was delicious.

3 cans croissants
3 cans cream of chicken soup
3 cans shredded chicken breast
2 cups of corn
2 cups peas and carrots
seasonings of your choice

So I took my new 9x13 cranberry red pampered chef rectangular stone...I had to say that...I have used this thing 3 times since I got it a week ago.... love it. Anyways...back to the recipe...
  1. Take one can of croissant and place them on the bottom of the pan
  2. Mix together the cream of chicken soup, shredded chicken, corn, peas and carrots and put them in the pan over the croissants
  3. Season the top with salt, pepper or whatever seasoning you prefer
  4. Then take the remainder two cans of croissants and place them over the mixture on top.

Bake in the oven at 375 degrees for 45 minutes. Enjoy!!! It was great.

Oh...what do you do in the Summer Time...

You eat strawberry kiwi ice cream in a cone.

You go to church in pretty summer dresses. I had to pull those flip flops off of her and put on some proper church shoes.

You go to the wading pools at Windjammer Park. Jeneva came along too. They had a blast.

I have to tell you our bathing suit story. So Jeneva stayed the night on Friday night. In the morning we were to meet up with some friends down at the wading pool. Jeneva did not have her swim suit, so we went to K-mart to get her a new one. We picked out this pretty suit and the lady stopped to tell me that they were going on the blue light special sale in 10 minutes. They were being reduced to $5.00 a swim suit. We waited the 10 minutes...that was sure nice of that lady to stop us. I didn't even know K-mart still did blue light specials. Good to know.

Here we are at the wading pool.

Paisley taking a snack break.

You go to garage sales. I found this cool cabana hut...brand new...$5.00

And this Princess tent....$5.00

You eat raspberries, blueberries and blackberries in a cool purple hat.

That is what you do in the Summer Time!!

Sleepless In Seattle

Ok, first of all I have to say I forgot to bring my camera on our overnight trip. I can't believe it!!! Anyways, you will have to make due with my story and these few pictures I took off the internet. George and I took off work Friday to go to the Bite of Seattle. George had been last year and thought that I would enjoy it. He was so right. It was a blast.

First of all we had fabulous weather. High 80's. It was a great day. Mom watched Paisley for our first night away from her. Boy was that hard, but I knew she was in capable hands. We proceeded to Seattle and parked by the Space Needle. We walked and ate and walked and ate our way through the Bite. It was so good. We shared crab cakes, fried mac and cheese bites, oriental food, reuben sandwiches...we ate until we could not eat anymore. We even ran into old friends down there...it never amazes me with thousands and thousands of people there that we would find someone we know. Small world.

I have to say a fun part of the day was watching all the children run through the water at the fountain...if you have never been there...you should head to the Key Arena and sit by the fountain and just people watch. I love to people watch and I always wonder what their world is like. The fountain is especially beautiful during the night when they have the colored lights on and music playing. The water responds to the music then too, but on Friday it just spit out water left and right and the kids played and played in the hot summer day. We will have to take Paisley sometime. I really hope Oak Harbor can eventually get a splash park. I think the kids in Oak Harbor would really enjoy it. I will keep hounding Hank about it at work.

After we could not eat or walk no more we headed to an air conditioned movie theatre to watch the new Harry Potter movie. We took the monorail into downtown Seattle and found a theatre that was playing it every 30 minutes. We walked right on in and the movie started. We could not have planned that any better. It was a great movie, probably my favorite yet.

Then we went to check into our hotel which was the Hotel Vintage, just a few blocks away from Westlake Center. It was a beautiful place to stay. We cleaned up and walked downtown to see the second movie we wanted to see which was Transformers 2. We found another theatre and again walked right on in. We are never this lucky. It was also a great movie.

By this time it was 9:00 p.m. and we were hungry. We walked a block or so to a restaurant called the Rockhouse. It was really good and we could eat in or outside. It was a perfect night to sit outside, it almost felt like Hawaii when you had a hot day and it was beginning to cool down at 9:00 p.m. You don't have many of those days living in Washington.

Anyways, we were wild that night. We never eat dinner at 9:00 p.m. and our normal bedtime is like 8:30 p.m. these days. We were reliving our 20's for sure. I am glad we did not have Paisley until we were in our 30's, we have great memories of just the two of us and this was a night to remember.

We went back to our hotel with our carrot cake and cheesecake to go in hand. We ate dessert in bed and didn't have to care about cleaning up the crumbs...we were on vacation!!!!

Morning came and we called to check in on Paisley and of course she was having a ball without us. What did we have to worry about. We walked a few blocks to a little cafe and bakery for breakfast and again sat outside eating our breakfast for two.

Our romantic getaway was ending and we headed back home to our little girl. What a great 30 hours of fun!!!

Dinner Idea

So, I made dinner tonight and it was quick and easy. Definitely needed to be quick since George was going out salmon fishing tonight. Thought you all might enjoy it too.

I took one box of brocolli au gratin rice a roni, then I cooked it as per the box instructions, after it was boiling I added in chopped portuguese sausage (any sausage would be good, but we love portuguese) and 3 cups of corn (I am sure any vegetables would work). I cooked them all together per the box instructions for 15 minutes and then let the whole thing sit for 5 minutes.

We bought some fancy bread and toasted it with brummel and dinner was done. Yes, that quick, easy and cheap. It was so quick that we even had dinner at 5:30 and that is after having a walk through at 4:15 today. George, Paisley and I loved it!!!

Until next time...

A few pictures...

Just a few pictures this week. It has been pretty quiet...that is out of the norm lately for us. Here is George's mom and Paisley below enjoying some kettle corn from the farmers market last Thursday.

I made some chocolate chip cookies the other night and Paisley just had to have one right out of the oven. Note to self...big mistake...it was all over her. Needless to say, it was bath time after that.

Paisley is obsessed with taking her clothes off and putting different ones back on. Here is an attempt to get her shirt on. I am glad it only happens at home.

Another obsession is purses, shoes and keys. Here she is going somewhere....not sure that she knows either...but she is ready with shoes on, purse in arm and keys in hand. The shirt is wrapped around her waist as if it were a skirt.

Never a dull moment with her.

Pampered Chef Party Thanks!!!!

So, we filled the house last night. This is why I need a bigger house!!!! I love hosting parties and having friends over. I hope that is a good enough reason for a bigger house. :)

Thank you all for coming!!! And thanks to those that gave me tons of outside orders. What a great Pampered Chef show. It was nice to sit around and eat warmy nutty carmel brownies with vanilla ice cream and talk the night away with dear friends.

I appreciate you all for taking the time out of your busy lives to come and support me and to help me get my cranberry red stone roaster...yes, that is all I wanted, but George is marking away at the catalog to spend the rest of the money. If anyone needs anything let me know by Monday...we are closing out the party then.

I must also add in that I have the BEST HUSBAND IN THE WORLD. George is so supportive and he is a great husband. He made his famous chicken wings and helped me set up and clean up. I am very lucky.

I am also lucky to have my mother-in-law here this week helping us out with Paisley while my cousin is on vacation and also to have extra hands to prepare for the party. I love you both.

I would post pictures, but I was having so much fun talking that I forgot to take some.... ;)

The Children's Place Discount

I have 3 extra coupons for THE CHILDRENS PLACE. They are 15% off and they can be used from July 15th-September 7th. I would be happy to share them for those fellow THE CHILDRENS PLACE shoppers. Let me know.

Multiple Thanks To Mary & Doug

We are so blessed to have so many great friends in our lives.

On Sunday, two of our dear friends came over and brought Paisley new toys, books, puzzles and clothes. She played and played and played.

We want to give a huge shout out to Mary and Doug (I know you are reading this), we love you and thank you so much. You are too generous.

Fun Filled Place Weekend

I don't know about you all, but we are beat. We had a very long weekend. The heat made it even longer I believe. I am not complaining, but we had every fan in the house going and then some. Our weekend was full of fun and excitement. It was nice that we were off 3 days to boot.

The Place Family did many things this weekend. We had a BBQ at my mom's house on the 4th with the whole family there, followed by some fireworks. Even Paisley, with supervision, had fun with a sparkler.

These were new to us. You pull the string at both ends and they pop very loudly. It was really fun watching the girls. Here is Kyanne and Jeneva playing with them.

Here is Paisley picking on Jeneva. She just loves picking on her.
The girls played on the trampoline. They are so nice and easy on Paisley. I appreciate that, the trampoline makes me nervous.

On Friday night we had the opportunity to go to a wedding for a co-worker. Congrats Lisa and Luke!!! We had a great time.

We also had a bunch of little girls over for a slumber party. Paisley may only be 19 months, but she is a big girl at heart. She loves to hang out with all of her cousins. I tell you having 5 little girls is fun, not sure that I want to do it every day though. I am exhausted thinking about it.

We filled the girls up with tons of sugar and let them play guitar hero. They danced the day away. Yes, even Paisley.
We made them cinnamon graham cracker pancakes for breakfast using my new pancake molds. They are so cute.

I picked up these pancake molds from William and Sonoma, love them.

They are in the shape of lady bugs, butterflies and a snail. The girls loved them too.

George went crabbing all weekend long. He brought back many and ate them all. They had crab for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Not sure why the funny face, but here is George cooking up his crab.

Here is Paisley in her 4th of July outfit. I found this a year ago and bought it. I almost thought it would not fit, but it fit great!!!

Here is Paisley...she had a fun filled weekend too. She couldn't even get to the crib in time to nap.

To beat the heat she played in the turtle which we filled with water. We have been so busy we have not had time to put sand in it. In addition, I am not sure I want a sand pile...they are very very messy.

Here is our little dare devil on her scooter. She looks so cute in her bathing suit. Love it!!!

Oh well, back to the work week...until next weekend. Hope you all had a great 4th of July and a great week ahead.

Reminder-Pampered Chef Party This Thursday

Hope to see you all there.
